Alex Hedley will be returning to perform another set of acoustic versions of some well-known – and less well known – reggae tunes under the Alex Dr’Hedley moniker at Wilkswood Reggae 2018.
When the Dorset-based singer songwriter left school, he slept in the back of vans or hung out in a caravan at an abandoned school with his band mates from former band ‘Saturday Sun’. In 2016, Alex took a two month move to a remote island in Scotland and, after countless hours of recording, the EP Shadow Lake was released to widespread acclaim.
Citing Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and Pink Floyd as influences, the EP has been compiled over an autumn, a frozen Scottish winter and sounds like it too, mixed with hopeful waves that will coincide with its spring/summer landing. So it is safe to say that Alex is very much ready for this era; to be released to the people with a hope that they will enjoy this alternative folk rock wash of colours as much as he did painting it for your ears.
