Less than a month to go! Are you feelin’ irie?
It’s just less than a month (yes, just four weekends, only 21 more sleeps) until the Wilkswood Reggae Festival takes place in Purbeck, Dorset from Friday July 14th until Sunday July 16th. The whole Dubwood team is getting excited and everyone’s working hard to make sure that you have the time of your life. Construction is already under way on site and the stage areas and catering facilities are being prepared; we’ve even got hot showers this year! T-shirts are being printed and final scheduling being prepared for the festival programme; more details coming soon.
The acts for the three stage areas have now been finalised; you can see the latest line-up here. This year the festival has three stage areas. The Main Stage is in a large converted barn, so the music plays come rain or shine; the weekend’s headliners, Tippa Irie, Mad Professor, Brinsley Forde and Janet Kay will all play here along with some other unmissable live acts. The Selector Stage brings together some heavyweight soundsystems from across the country including the legendary Channel One Soundsystem. And our DJ Derek Memorial Stage – named in honour of the late Bristolian DJ – will feature a range of soundsystems, selectors, deejays, acoustic acts, spoken word and poetry throughout the weekend; the venue is the BoxPub, a converted Bedford horsebox complete with sail shades, DJ booth and hay bales!
Wilkswood Reggae Festival is family-orientated festival and the schedule for the children’s entertainers is currently being finalised but we have a range of story-tellers, stone carvers, metal workers, bushcraft experts, face painters and crafts people all lined up to keep your little ones occupied. We even have a Chill Out Zone and a Little Picturehouse showing family favourites for when it’s timeout time.
Tickets are selling well and at just £80 per adult for three nights camping with parking, three stages of fabulous live music and the best streetfood this side of Kingston, we’re anticipating a sellout. And it’s just £40 for under-17s, £10 for under-13s & under-3s go free! Book your tickets using the GET TICKETS button below.
